We are loving Moodle !

Moodle has become the de-facto standard for Learning Management Systems (LMS) in the UK. True, some LMS may be better designed or easier to use ... but Moodle has become the de-facto standard.

And why is it important to have a 'standard' LMS ? Because, as soon as there is a standard you can start swapping content! A stand-alone LMS is fine ... but when you can get content for it, then its true power is unleashed.

Expect to see Moodle installed in 90% of all schools in the UK in the next 3 years !

Name Change - how not to do it !

Oh how we love cock-ups. PwC's rebranding of its consultancy division as 'Monday' was one of the most enjoyable corporate, cock-ups of the noughties.

Branding gurus Wolf Olins, said that Monday was a fresh start and a bright new day. Clearly Wolf Olins employees didn't commute to work on wet Monday mornings. Or stand at train stations on cold Monday mornings. Or scrape into work half an hour late most Monday mornings!

Incredibly, PwC was planning to invest $110 million to establish the brand. Fortunately for them (but unfortunately for those of us who like a joke to run and run) Monday was flogged to IBM.

The brand was launched on Monday, 10th of June 2002 but was sold by the end of July. IBM paid the PwC partners $3.5 billion. Doubtless the partners celebrated the sale at TGI Fridays!

Re-live this fabulous cock up. Including the reaction of PwC employees who sat with head in hands, groaning in embarrassment!
