Branding gurus Wolf Olins, said that Monday was a fresh start and a bright new day. Clearly Wolf Olins employees didn't commute to work on wet Monday mornings. Or stand at train stations on cold Monday mornings. Or scrape into work half an hour late most Monday mornings!
Incredibly, PwC was planning to invest $110 million to establish the brand. Fortunately for them (but unfortunately for those of us who like a joke to run and run) Monday was flogged to IBM.
The brand was launched on Monday, 10th of June 2002 but was sold by the end of July. IBM paid the PwC partners $3.5 billion. Doubtless the partners celebrated the sale at TGI Fridays!
